Milton Keynes Speakeasy

Speakeasy – Milton Keynes Writers’ Group – always meet on the first Friday of each month (except when there is a bank holiday involved, then it’s a week later).
This month it’s the turn of Fay Roberts, formerly of Milton Keynes’s “Poetry Kapow!”, to talk about her life as a poetry promoter, and to perform a few poems.

Most meetings take the form of local writers’ nights where they share their stories, poems, articles or whatever they’ve created. Newcomers are welcome to join them, and they invite participants to bring some work with them to read aloud – or, if you prefer, you can just listen to other people’s work. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly – there’s no pressure to perform if you don’t want to, and your work won’t be aggressively criticised.
