Hammer & Tongue featuring Rob Gee and Steve Larkin
13th April 2010 @ 8:10 pm - 11:10 pm
“Right-tighty, lefty-loosey, Hammer & Tongue is looking juicy!
“Hooorah! Two of my favourite stand-up poets on the circuit at the moment will be gracing us with their fabulously funny presence, creating a lovely poetry sandwich with you, the good folks of Cambridge for the slam-tastic filling!
“This month’s headline act is the incomparable…
ROB GEE

“Rob has performed over 2000 shows all over the world, both on his tod and as a part of the hilarious comedy music duo Rob & Skatz. His most recent show, Fruitcake, based on the trials and tribulations of his life as a Mental Health Worker won the Best of Fest 2009 at the Winnipeg Fringe and sold out across Canada last summer. He has shared stages with some of the brightest stars in comedy including Frankie Boyle, Jo Brand, Jimmy carr among many others. Genuinely one of the funniest men in poetry today.”
‘He’s a performance poet – but don’t worry, he’s not shit!’ – Jimmy Carr
with support from:
STEVE LARKIN

“The founding father of Hammer & Tongue, Steve has had his poetry broadcast to over 12 million people through the BBC World Service, has toured extensively in North America and Europe and is one of only a handful of UK poets to have won an international poetry slam title. He is a performance poet with over 15 years experience who has shared stages with the likes of John Hegley, John Cooper Clarke, Taylor Mali and Linton Kwesi Johnson.”
“Leeds’ hybrid answer to Spike Milligan and Eminem… Poetry at its best.” (Vanguard-Online)
“Fantastic poetry” (Billy Bragg)
