Poetry Kapow Special!

Poetry Kapow present the Milton Keynes leg of Captain of the Rant and Christian Watson’s explosive 2011 tour, “They F**k You Up And Then You Die!” with support from the Bard of Stony Stratford Ian Freemantle and some Kapow-style fun, games and goodies. Oh, and there’ll be open mic too, so get yourselves over there to help us make it a proper poetry party.

More about this “outspoken guided tour of your own personal apocalypse”:
Captain of the Rant is a London based poet who has also performed at many of the UK’s festivals. He is buoyed up by anger at the modern world in which he finds himself continually bemused. His poems, though are laced with a heavy dose of wit and dark humour which takes the abrasive edge off the anger. His explosive performances are hard to ignore and easy to enjoy.
Christian Watson is the 2010 Canterbury Slam Champion, hosts Slam Sandwich in Tunbridge Wells, Sunday Veg in Hastings and has worked with a number of poetry organisations such as Apples and Snakes.
He is, unlike the aforementioned Captain, generally amazed at life. With poems that range in subject from falling in love with a mannequins legs to the imminent arrival of a zombie apocalypse, Christian mixes whimsy with flashes of morbid humour and down-right immaturity, a performer unafraid of laying his soul bare.
