CATHERINE BROGAN

I’ve just come back from Small World festival in Kent and Cat was one of the highlights for me. Since starting her poetry career at the tender age of 6 she has performed her work for Radio 4’s Today Programme, The Edinburgh Fringe, Cheltenham Literary Festival, Canterbury Literary Festival and Larmer Tree Festival. She was voted Farrago Best Slam performer 08 & 09, represented London in the Semi Final of the Radio 4 UK Slam and represented the UK at the European Slam Days in Berlin.

Tom’s becoming something of a regular at Upbeat which is certainly no bad thing. This boy can do things with a guitar that other players just dream of. Words are not enough to do justice – just go watch the video then come see him live…

Colin Merry builds all his own cigar box guitars and plays them rather well too. Loads of dirty slide guitar with harmonica and stompbox to get your feet tapping and your heads nodding. He’s supported the Levellers on tour as well as playing gigs and festivals all over the country with his various bands and side-projects, truly a very talented man.
